Great work Liquigas
One of the first to get it was his teammate Daniele Bennati. The Italian was ahead in only 1 second to Kreuziger and thus establishing a new benchmark. Meanwhile, the important men in the face of general and chrono your engines started.
But little joy would last because soon after jumping one of the biggest surprises of the day with time the Dutchman Jens Mouris, leaving the time trial in 5:34, lifting his countrymen out of their seats. But much remained to be seen. Belgian Tom Boonen came moments later before spraying all time with a mark of 5:29.
Then came the turn of the heavyweights in the face of general and all achieved a similar time in the goal. All but Andy Schleck, who lost with 38 seconds on the leader, and Ezequiel Mosquera, who yielded 33.
