The Tselinograd gave a boost that was supposed to be the team leader, Alberto Contador. Madrid was involved in a court of the squad leaving behind a group which marched his' comrades' Lance Armstrong, Yaroslav Popovych and Haimar Zubeldia. Latter two helped Columbia to shoot the first group, which made Contador will stay behind and lost its second position in general. In addition, Mark Cavendish won the stage victory and now takes two.
